POST AND RAIL FENCING
Post and rail fencing is a very rural style for driveways and for stock.
Posts are 75x125mm, but can be 75x100mm or 75x150mm if required. In the main they are backfilled with soil, which usually gives the most satisfactory finish, but if conditions dictate they can be set in concrete.
Post and rail looks its best with three rails, this achieves a visual balance. However it can also be supplied with two rails for economy or four rails for extra security with stock. It can have stock netting fixed to it to make it proof against small stock or dogs. Rails are most always of 38x100mm timber and fixing holes are predrilled to prevent splitting when nailing.
